RESEARCH PROJECTS IN HAND = 75
RESEARCH AREAS

• Collection, maintenance & evaluation/screening of fodder germplasm and use of the elite accessions in the breeding programme.
• Development of high yielding, nutritionally better fodder varieties/hybrids.
• Screening of material against pests and diseases.
• Development of package of practices/technology for green fodder and seed production of new varieties/hybrids and its dissemination to the farmers.
• To Attempt wide crosses in an effort to come out with better material than maize.
• Screening of maize, berseem, Lucerne germplasm for pin-pointing cultivars suitable to flourish under low temperature.
• Finding of balanced ration for animals and to record fodder effect on milk production.
• Testing of promising material at various locations.
