Functions

Selection and acclimatization of exotic cultivars of different fruits.
Standardization of root stocks for different fruit cultivars.
Standardization of various cultural practices like nutritional, pruning, intercultural and irrigational aspects.
To find out the causes of various disorders i.e. fruit drop, alternate bearing, malformation, mango decline and their control.
To conduct research trials on fruit crops in different ecological zones. Supply of pedigreed fruit plants of recommended cultivars to the farmers at cheaper rates.
To coordinate with other Research organizations in Pakistan and abroad.
Advisory services through Farmer field visits, Personal contacts, T.V & Radio talks, Seminars, Exhibitions, Popular articles in Ziraat Nama, Zarai Digest. Newspapers, Pamphlets & Leaflets etc, Farmer days, Kisan Melas, Refreshers courses for the growers, Agriculture Extension staff and Research papers.
