Monitoring of pest development by weekly pest scouting of all crop, Vegetables, Orchards etc. with special reference to Cotton, Rice Sguarcane, Grain, Maize, Oil Seed, Wheat, Mango, Citrus, Guava, Okra, Brinjal, Cucurbits & Potato etc.
· Training of the farmers, Pesticide dealers and Extension workers in:-
i. Identification of insect pests, diseases and their timely appropriate control measures.
ii. Identification of useful insects.
iii. Safe handling of pesticides, plant protection machinery and their proper use.
· Quality Control of pesticides.
i. Registration of pesticides distributor and dealers.
ii. Intelligence based sampling and implementation of APO to regulate the pesticide business and ensure the supply of quality pesticides to the farmers.
· Conducting of research trials for screening of insecticides, fungicides and herbicides against common pests.
· Studies to determine economic threshold levels of attack by pests on different crops. |
