Moong Whole

Mixed price trend has been observed in Moong Whole market during the period under review, Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan markets depicted inclining tendency by 3.94, 2.42 and 5.43 percent respectively whereas Sargodha and Gujranwala markets showed declining tendency @ 1.03 and 0.05 percent respectively as compared to the prices of the last month. When compared the prices of the current month with the corresponding period of last year, bearish tendency was registered in the range of 10.00 to 17.72 percent in all the main markets of the province.

On an average Moong prices during the period under report remained in between Rs. 1630.00 to 1980.00 per quintal against Rs. 1647.00 to 1905.00 per quintal of the last month. Moong prices during the corresponding period of last year were at high side and prevailed in the range of Rs.1981.00 to 2270.00 per quintal in the main markets of the province. Moong market is likely to increase in the coming month due to end of season.

Potato

Potato market displayed negative response in prices during the period under report and prices found decrease in the range of 2.20 to 17.58 percent in all the main markets of the province as compared to the prices of last month. Potato market is likely to go up in the coming month due to end of harvesting season of Potato

Average wholesale prices of Potato during the current month prevailed in the range of Rs. 262.00 to 355.00 per quintal against Rs. 319.00 to 364.00 per quintal of last month. Potato prices during the corresponding period of last year were at high side and prevailed in the range of Rs. 549.00 to 680.00 per quintal in the main markets of the province, which depicted steep decline in the range of 43.89 to 52.28 percent in all the main markets of the province as compared to the prices of the corresponding period of last year.

Onion Dry

Inclining trend has been observed in onion market during the period under review and prices found increase in the range of 27.96 to 59.46 percent in all the main markets of the province as compared to the prices of last month. Comparative analysis of the current month with the corresponding period of last year depicted bearish tendency and prices found steep decline in the range of 58.83 to 67.55 percent in all the main markets of the province.

Prevailing prices of Onion during the current month remained in between Rs. 476.00 to 590.00 per quintal against Rs. 325.00 to 375.00 per quintal of last month. Onion prices during the corresponding period of last year were at high side and prevailed in the range of Rs. 1195.00 to 1530.00 per quintal in the main markets of the province. Onion market is likely to remain constant in the coming month.

Chillies Red

Declining trend has been realized in onion market during the period under review and prices found decrease in the range of 1.60 to 23.71 percent in all the main markets of the province as compared to the prices of last month. Chillies market is likely to decrease in the coming month due to better arrival of Chilles red and green in the market.

Chillies have been found selling in the range of Rs. 3469.00 to 3850.00 per quintal against Rs. 3817.00 to 4850.00 per quintal of last month. Chillies prices during the corresponding period of last year were at high side and remained in between Rs. 5550.00 to 6510.00 per quintal in the main markets of the province which depicted downward trend and prices showed steep decline in the range of 24.38 to 40.86 percent in all the main markets of the province as compared to the prices of the corresponding period of last year.

Tomato

With the exception of Multan market where Tomato prices recorded slight decline @ 0.92 percent, all other main markets of the province showed inclining tendency in the range of 7.59 to 19.03 percent as compared to the prices of the last month. When compared the prices of the current month with the corresponding period of last year, it depicted bearish tendency and prices found steep decline in the range of 28.22 to 37.19 percent in all the main markets of the province.

On an average Tomato prices during the period under report remained in between Rs. 1075.00 to 1275.00 per quintal against Rs. 1080.00 to 1185.00 per quintal of the last month. Tomato prices during the corresponding period of last year were at high side and prevailed in the range of Rs.1575.00 to 2030.00 per quintal in the main markets of the province. Tomato market is likely to go down in the coming month due to arrival of new Tomato crop in the market from Tomato producing areas.
